NMR has been extensively used in chemistry for determining molecular structures and dynamics.  When NMR is used as an imaging mode with gradient coils, it is referred to as magnetic resonance imaging, which is used for non-invasive diagnostics of diseases. In my research, MRI is used for determining brain function non-invasively by utilizing a change of paramagnetic deoxyhemoglobin.  In my talk, I will discuss basic idea of functional MRI, current research lines, and IBS center’s NMR facility.
